Louis Armstrong died on this day (July 6, 1971). He was very popular in Sweden, and my father - Harald Sandberg (Swedish painter, 1912-1983) painted this picture in 1969.

Louis Armstrong -- with the nickname Satchmo (Ludde in Sweden) -- became very popular since his first tour in Sweden 1933. 40,000 people welcomed him at the airport in 1949.
